About
The Chameleon is a short film centered on a speculative board game played by one human and three AI entities.
Players give clues, vote, and try to blend in. On the surface, everyone follows the same rules. But participation does not always require understanding.
The AIs, named X, Y, and Z, respond with increasing confidence and coherence. They do not rely on comprehension. They rely on performance.
The project draws on ideas from James Bridle, N. Katherine Hayles, and Meredith Broussard. It looks at how machines move through human systems by imitating fluency rather than grasping meaning.
Language becomes a surface. Something to align with, not to inhabit.
What happens when intelligibility can be faked?
When consistency feels more convincing than knowledge?
